Now Today we are talking about someone you might read about in your history books. Winstons Churchill, the British Prime Minister during the second World War II, who is well known throughout the world.

Ah .. never surrender. In other words, never submit to your enemy. I remember reading about this speech the Churchill gave in during the 1940, when France was being invaded by the forces of  Nazi Germany.

Yes, and this shows initially the spirit is very of very famous leader to this mile still admired to this days. So much so that here hearing in the UK. We are marking 50th anniversary of Winstons Churchill's death.

He  was a controversy figure, what is it wasn't he, Neil. Controversial, it means people have divided opinions about him.

You know what, Neil? Many people think Churchill has lot of to teach tips some of the today's politicians. He was very determined. In other words, he was persistent. When Churchill believed in an idea, he didn't give up easily.

Yes, the mayor of London, Boris Johnson , sees another good quality in Britain wartime leader.  He says there is one thing today's politicians do but that Churchill didn't. What was it?

That's right. The historian Nigel Knight  leading academic at Cambridge university, wrote a book about Churchill. He listed some of the mistakes made by the wartime leader throughout his political career. Let's listen how does he describe Churchill's character.

Churchill was fundamentally flawed with . So was his military strategy: glimpsing Gallipoli in  World War I  which is was replicated in Norway Norwegian, North Africa and South soft underbelly of European campaigns during the World War II. He was a economic strategy as chancellor with  in the 1920, the return to through the gold standard. His attitude towards all Indian and the Indians. And indeed he did his post war 51-55 minister ministry which is was very lackluster strong  and very poor indeed.

Nigel Knight calls Churchill flawed. It means he has had a weakness in his character. And Churchill didn't get it right all the time.

No, he occupied different posts in government. and Sometimes he didn't get his strategy which means his plan of action, right. His strategy in some military campaigns ended up in disaster.

And his strategy regarding the British economy colony may have actually contributed to a period of  appear economic crisis, known as a great depression. And when he became prime minister again in the 50s, his government wasn't very good what was it, Neil.

No, Not according to Cambridge academic Dr. Nigel Knight , he called the lackluster, which means dull, uninspiring.
