The chief of executive of Volkswagen XXXX resigns today. Just days after the company admitted it had rad vehicle's emission tests. Volkswagen's board said  CEO had no knowledge of the wrong doing. But the board says it will seek the prosecute any VW employees who were involved. NPR's XXXX has the latest.

CEO XXXX says in the statement he was called shocked by what happened in the past few days and stunned by the scope of the offenses. But he says he is clearing the way for the fresh start by stepping down.

It's not amazing we are not surprised this that down is CEO. I mean I think it was a right thing for him to do.

That's XXXX, News Cover the Auto industry for 30 years and he is now managing editor of XXXX. He says this revolution has now toppled a powerful CEO.

This is regard you'll just prevail in a bored room bare knuckle bro against chairman of the board earlier this year in the board back in it and I want the board with a schedule to me Friday with the expersive purpose of stemming his contract. You know? XXXX is really stunning term of events.

It of course also an nested surprise anybody who bought the Volkswagen's diesel recently. XXXXX, works for the county of XXXX of Ohio. She bought the rade TDI sport swagen just last summer.

It's just so outrageous. Sounding to me is just a you know the  tremendous fraud propitiate on these customers who deliberately this clean diesel engines because they though they were you know they were clean diesel and they also get good mileages. So I and then affected by this. Just we are betrayed of the customer's trust.

There is still a lot we don't know about when and whether recalls fix maybe. But Auto wind industry expert said it will fix the emissions that likely hurt the gas mileages and performance of the cars. Just how much we don't know. But William says the heart it will never be the car's chief thought she used by.

I frankly don't know if there is any kind of engineering fixes can do that work. Make tons of things happened they promised one that bought the car because they can do that. That will be let's done them begin with it. We have achieved it this way. So I think they should offer to buy back the cars at that price we pay for them.

Volkswagen is going to have a piece no only angry customers but a growing number of prosecutors and regulators around the entire world.
